Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

Summer time is in full swing and the heat index is rising. My husband and I haven’t been fishing in awhile, mainly because of the heat. It’s hard to escape the blazing sun in a canoe. Forget early morning fishing since it’s rare that either of us can actually wake up early if it’s not for work, though we’d probably catch more fish if we did.
I guess we could always go in the evening but it hardly seems worth loading the canoe onto the car and preparing the fishing gear for an hour or two before the sun goes down. Maybe if we lived closer to the ocean…
It seems we go through periods like this where we just haven’t been motivated enough to go fishing or other things in life take priority. So for now, I’ll enjoy relaxing in the AC with a nice refreshing Chocolate Smoothie and look forward to when the weather cools off and we have more fish tales to tell.

By the way this chocolaty smoothie is only around 170 calories so you won’t feel too guilty indulging.

A Frozen Banana, Coconut Almond Milk, Cocoa Powder,  a few Ice cubes and Honey are all you need to make this delicious treat!

Creamy Chocolate Smoothie Recipe
3/4 Cup Coconut Almond Milk
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
5 Ice cubes
1 Frozen banana
Honey (I just added a squirt or two for a little extra sweetness)
Add ingredients to a blender and blend well. Pour into a glass and garnish with a few chocolate chips.
Tip on Freezing bananas:
You can freeze bananas whole in their peel but I always get freezer burn on my fingers trying to cut off the peel. A better way is to peel and slice the banana into coins and then freeze them so they are ready to use when you need them.
