Hot Cocoa Recipe

Hot Cocoa
Cozy up in your favorite space with a nice cup of homemade hot chocolate and enjoy a few moments to yourself.
There’s something to be said about hot cocoa. It holds its own even among all the coffees and teas of the world. Something about the rich and smooth taste of hot cocoa that just makes you feel good. It’s like that feeling you get from being wrapped up in a hot towel straight from the dryer.
Hot Cocoa
For the hot cocoa recipe I used unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, milk, water and a splash of half and half for that extra creaminess. Shave some chocolate on top if you want to get fancy.

Hot Cocoa Recipe

Yield: Makes one 12 ounce mug of Hot Cocoa
2 Heaping Teaspoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 1/2 Teaspoons Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
1 Cup Milk
Splash of Half and Half
-In a mug add the sugar, cocoa powder and water. Mix, mix, mix! It takes awhile for the cocoa powder to mix in. Mix about a minute or until the cocoa powder looks mostly wet and the sugar has dissolved. Don’t worry if the cocoa powder still isn’t all the way mixed in, after heating it up it will.
-Pour in the milk and mix vigorously like you are beating an egg.
-Place in the microwave for about a minute.
-Mix it up again and at this point the cocoa powder should be combined.
-Place back in the microwave for another 30 seconds to a minute or until the hot cocoa is heated through.
-Add a splash of half and half and enjoy!
