I took a little hiatus from blogging over the past few weeks. I needed some time to focus on other areas of my life, relax and enjoy time with friends and family and now I’m ready to start fresh in the new year.
I also have some big news to share…
I’m pregnant! Our little one is due in June. I am so excited but being pregnant is also another reason why I needed a little break. I was lucky enough to have very mild morning sickness but I have been very picky with food. Often times nothing or very few foods actually sound good to eat. I sometimes have to force myself to eat something. It’s not that I’m not hungry it’s just certain smells or foods are a big turn off. I used to cook meals most of the time but since becoming pregnant I have started ordering out a lot because of the food aversions and so I haven’t been cooking many dishes to post on the blog! I did do a lot of Christmas baking and made iced sugar cookies, fudge, snowballs and cherry coconut treasures as baking sweets doesn’t seem to bother me all that much ;-).
It has also been a bit challenging finding the time to blog since I’ve also been very busy with my day job – building and editing websites and working on graphic design projects. And we are busy with more projects around the house, like finally starting on our master bedroom closet, and then when that’s done we will be working on the nursery. I say “we” but it will mostly be the husband doing the labor…no pun intended, hah!
I’m hoping in the next few weeks the food aversions will subside and I will have some new dishes to share with y’all. If nothing else, be sure to follow me on Pinterest
as I’m on there quite often pinning away tasty recipes
, delectable sweets
, home improvement projects, crafts and more!
Happy Finley Friday!
Finley and I got to enjoy some time in the sun and sand yesterday. We went to the beach to watch the 9/11 Heroes Run 5K.
It’s Friday – Finley Friday ’round here!
We finally moved the couches in from the garage after we finished painting the ceilings in the living room. Let me just say that a recliner couch weighs a ton and I don’t have a lot of upper body strength – but somehow – the hubby and I managed to get it through 2 doorways and into the living room. I think Finley was happy to have one of his favorite nap spots back, don’t you think?
I woke up super early this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. So much to do, so little time!
Before rolling out of bed in the morning I like to check my email and social media. I came across this little video and it had me literally laughing out loud!
Happy Finley Friday!! Finley the Pomeranian loves his new backyard. We just need to get him a fence so he can run around off leash.
What a week it has been. No time to think – just go, go, go! Packing, moving, cleaning, priming, painting…it seems there just isn’t enough time in the day. But we are moved into our new house…well most of our stuff is in the garage for the time being since we are STILL working on the ceilings but we are here nonetheless. No more apartment living for us, we are proud homeowners now. Woohoo!
I didn’t get a chance to post a Finley Friday yesterday but here it is – just a day late

It’s Finley Friday – Nap Time!
Happy Friday Everyone! We have been busy busy working on our new house. We have scraped the popcorn ceilings in the Master Bedroom and the Living/Kitchen/Dining Room, skim coated, sanded, and cleaned up all the dust from sanding (which is everywhere!). Should be ready to prime tomorrow and then paint. Nice smooth ceilings here we come!
